As the year approaches to an end and the holiday season is around the corner, ZANTEL has brought great joy to an orphanage center at Kimara Suka. The orphanage known as Watoto Wetu Tanzania received food packages of sugar, rice, flour, buckets of cooking oil, juice, soda, drinking water, clothes, washing and bathing soaps, tooth paste, and exercise books. In addition the center, among other challenges, has problem a basic amenity of clean water which ZANTEL is taking care by drilling a bole hole with a pump so that the center could have access to safe and clean water indefinitely. This has been a constant challenge for the home housing 54 children and still counting.
The handover ceremony for the donation was held on Dec 05th / 2014 at the center during lunch that was arranged by ZANTEL, and the donated items were presented on behalf of ZANTEL by the staff that visited the children who were led by Mr. Francis Kiaga, ZANTEL CHRO who said “We are very happy to join the children here today for lunch and share with you various items that we’ve brought with us from ZANTEL” and received by Theobald Tryphone, Assistant Director of Watoto Wetu Tanzania Orphanage in his words of thanks he said “We are glad for what ZANTEL has done to the children of Watoto Wetu Tanzania. Be assured that the children shall forever be grateful for your services and we all wish you well in your day-to-day activities.”
