Dr. David Mestres Ridge, Swala’s CEO said “With Tanzania’s success in gas exploration and on-going oil exploration, we collectively need to build the local capacity to support and develop such a nationally important industry. This means developing human resources, and particularly the next generation of Tanzanian geoscientists. Whilst the oil industry in Tanzania already contributes significant sums to local development, in a programme administered by the Tanzanian Petroleum Development Corporation, we felt it appropriate to add to that effort in partnership with the University of Dar es Salaam.”
