GEORGE W. BUSH AND MRS. LAURA BUSH TO HOSTSUMMIT FOCUSED ON THE ROLE OFAFRICAN FIRST LADIES IN PROMOTING WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT

Dallas, TX – On July 2-3, 2013, African First Ladies from across the continent will gather at the George W. Bush Institute’s African First Ladies Summit, “Investing in Women: Strengthening Africa” in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to focus on the important role First Ladies play in promoting women’s education, health and economic empowerment.

With support from ExxonMobil, thesummitwill bring together African First Ladies, government officials, private organizations, NGOs and academics to discuss best practices, particularly within public-private partnerships that can reap sustainable, replicable results, benefit women and strengthen society.

President and Mrs. Bush will both deliver keynote addresses at the Summit. Participantswill also include:
